More Than Words is featured in the ninth episode of the second season of The Glee Project, Romanticality. It was originally sung by Extreme. It was performed by the top six contenders as their ninth homework assignment. Darren Criss was the guest mentor. The songwriter Nuno Bettencourt was another special guest, and accompanied the contenders on acoustic guitar.
For the number, the remaining six contenders were split into pairs, similar to Season One's Need You Now assignment. They decided the pairs by looking at each other. The pairings were Blake/Ali, Lily Mae/Aylin, and Michael/Shanna.
Blake was cited by Darren Criss as having given the best performance, and was thus chosen as the winner. This gave Blake the privilege of choosing his partner for the We Found Love video. Blake chose Ali.
